HomeWorks Energy is looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician who wants stability and variety in the work field. In this position you will be responsible for reviewing new job specifications, servicing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Servicing of high efficiency heating and cooling equipment: Boilers, Furnaces, Central Air and Ductless Mini Splits along with Domestic Hot Water
  • Preventative maintenance of solutions listed above
  • System Cleaning and ability to deal with High CO, failed Draft and Spillage issues
  • Reviewing specifications for new installation jobs with heating and cooling equipment
  • Ability to handle paperwork and online closure of service calls
  • Obtain/maintain required certifications
  • Ability to diagnose and repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
  • Test electrical safety circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
  • Record as well as report all faults, deficiencies, and also other unusual occurrences, as well as the time materials expended on work orders
  • Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap and water solution
  • Recommend, develop, or perform preventive/general maintenance procedures, like cleaning, power washing, vacuuming equipment, oiling parts and changing filters
  • Adjust system controls, install auxiliary components to heating and cooling equipment, as well as connect electrical
  • Install and adjust thermostats
  • Generate work-orders that address other services in need of correction
  • Join pipes or tubing to equipment for fuel, water or refrigerant source to form complete circuit of heating loops
  • Assemble, position, and mount heating or cooling equipment following diagrams
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, or specifications, and also manufacturers recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating and cooling equipment components
  • Cut or drill holes in floors and walls for installation of equipment. Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe or tubing, using pipe fitter’s tools
  • Fabricate, assemble or install duct work or chassis parts


  • 3 years of experience with either HVAC preventative maintenance, servicing, or installations
  • Refrigerant/EPA license a must
  • Driver’s license
  • Existing work vehicle preferred but not required
  • Oil license a plus
